YOU  DON'T SEE
CHEST STRAP
Have you ever laughed off uncomfortable comments  from strangers like:  "What's wrong with you?" or “It’s good to see you out and about.”
First impressions count. Minimizing the appearance of prominent aids may lower an initial barrier to communication and connection. Making necessary devices less visible, may stop you avoiding a new intervention that makes your life easier AND safer. Wearing a seat belt prevents broken bones!

solution
It is easy to conceal any strap by unpicking a section of the side seam, equal to the width of the strap,  under the armpits of your tshirts, shirts or sweaters. Don't worry, nobody will ever notice the opening.
1
unpick
The place to begin unpicking the seam will vary depending upon where on the body the chest strap is worn. Measure or estimate the distance between the armpit and the strap. Unpick extra stitching to insert the strap easily.
2
target your top  layer of clothing
Wearing a singlet or undershirt provides a layer between your skin and the chest strap. It also protects from chills and possible chest infections. Always unpick the outermost layer. In cold weather, you may only need to modify your jumper.

success
Fraying is not generally a problem so machine neatening is not necessary, even after numerous launderings. Some shirts have no side seams. If you engage a professional tailor, they may machine neaten the edges of the  the opening cut with scissors.
