SCIENTIFIC NAME: Engraulis encrasicolus
-The fishes of the Engraulidae family are small, in general  around 15 centimeters long. The color varies from dark blue to light gray, but normally they have a silver strip on the both sides. -Often they are consumed in water and salt, taking the name of anchovy. -They live near the coast in big groups. -In summer goes up to the north and to the surface;while in winter goes to the depth waters. -It eats plankton. -People buy it fresh, salted, smoked, canned or frozen. -Is fished with the seine fishing tecnique.

-It's from the clupeids family.
