July is National Ice Cream Month
Yes! In 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued Presidential Proclamation 5219 designating July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day.  
Is there really a National Ice Cream Month?
The ice cream cone made its first appearance in the US at the World's Fair in 1904 when an ice cream vendor ran out of bowls and teamed up with waffle vendor who rolled his waffles into cones!
Americans consume the most ice cream in the world per capita. In 2010, the US dairy industry produced approximately 20 quarts per capita.
Vanilla is America's favorite ice cream flavor, followed by chocolate, cookies 'n cream, strawberry, and mint chocolate chip.
