Transportation 2018-2019
Elementary 2018-2019
Holmes Elementary Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd
East End Elementary Preschool & 5th grade
Denver Place Elementary 3rd, 4th
Starting with the 2018-2019 school year, elementary children will attend a building based on their grade level, rather than their home address.
Follow along with your child to see how transportation will work in 2018-19
  • Elementary siblings at the same house will ride the same bus together (unless handicap accessible transportation is needed). The bus will drop each child off at the correct building.
  • Students in any elementary walk zone will walk to their walk zone school and get on a bus at 8:40 a.m. for a short ride to their assigned school as the buses rotate buildings (or stay if that is their assigned school).
The Basics
  • This family does not live in a walk zone for any building.
  • They have elementary age children attending 3 different buildings.
  • They will all ride the same bus together, each child staying on the bus till it arrives at their assigned school.
Family A
  • This family lives in a walk zone, but not for the school their child is assigned.
  • This student will walk to the walk zone school and get on a bus at 8:40 a.m. for a short ride to their assigned school.
Family B
  • This family prefers to drop-off and pick-up their children.
  • There will be staggered dismissal times to allow parents enough time to pick-up at multiple buildings if necessary.
Family C
  • This family has a Kindergarten student and a 3rd grade student in a bus zone
  • They let the 3rd grader ride the bus, but choose to drive the Kindergarten child to school themselves.
Family D
  • This family lives in a bus zone and has a 2nd grade student and a student in a wheelchair.
  • They have the 2nd grader ride a standard bus, and our Transportation Department can arrange for separate wheelchair accessible transportation for their other child.
Family E
What do kids do while the buses rotate?
  • Every elementary building offers breakfast.
  • There will be planned supervision and activities.
  • The YMCA may be offering their before and after school program for parents who need extra day-care help.
What happens after school lets out?
  • The entire Carousel process will completely reverse.
  • We will have a pick-up and bus window from 3:30 to 4:00 to allow for bus rotation, and for parents who may be picking up children at different buildings.
Elementary Transportation Survey
Please take our transportation survey for each child before May 16th, even if you are not yet sure of your plans.
This will give our transportation department a general idea of needs so that they can begin planning routes for 2018-2019.
Don't worry, you can still change your mind. We just can't give you estimated routes/times until we have enough surveys.

The link will be on our District home page until May 16th
