Hayward High Students are...
Hayward High School is the oldest high school in Southern Alameda County and began serving the community in 1892.

Hayward High offers a comprehensive curriculum with Advanced Placement (AP) courses in all core curricular areas, a full range of core courses, a variety of classes in the visual and performing arts area, including instrumental and vocal music, and vocational courses in Business Education, Home Economics and Industrial Technology.  We have capstone courses with the Eden Area Regional Occupational Program (ROP).

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Our school counseling program is aligned with the American School Counselor Association’s philosophy that, “School counseling programs are collaborative efforts benefiting students, parents, teachers, administrators and the overall community.”  In order to accomplish this, we engage parents and the community in supporting the achievement of all our students. We have a comprehensive counseling plan that fosters academic achievement, career and college readiness, and personal/social life skills.

Career and college readiness activities are led by five academic counselors and their interns that provide academic advising, classroom guidance lessons, and teacher and parent support. They also participate in the Coordination of Services Team (COST), where support staff offers counseling and extra support to change lives and create a safe campus and healthy school environment for student success.
