A Message From OHSU
For the past six years, the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute and the OHSU Brenden-Colson Center for Pancreatic Care have joined forces to sponsor the Portland Purple Stride event to help PanCAN in raising awareness of the urgent need for pancreatic cancer research.
The Knight Cancer Institute is a National Cancer Center-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, dedicated to compassionate and expert cancer care. The Institute also conducts cancer research, with a special emphasis on detecting and treating cancers early, when they can be more effectively controlled.
The Brenden-Colson Center's mission focuses on early detection – developing minimally invasive tests and clinical imaging methods; advanced therapy – validating innovative surgical and medical therapies; and quality of life – seeking to understand and treat the pain and anxiety that accompanies pancreatic disease. Our team of experts are focused on pancreatic disease, in the lab and in the clinic, and harness OHSU's world-leading strengths in pancreatic surgery, genomics, and precision medicine. Our emphasis is on swift action, translating emerging knowledge in to action rapidly so that each patient we care for might benefit.
