For the MOTS online concert, we (me, my husband, and our two kids) decorated the house, ordered a big mix of Korean foods/snacks, got new t-shirts, woke up early, and celebrated all day after watching. It gave us something to look forward to, enjoy, and remember forever as a family.

BTS hitting no 1 on the Hot 100. Growing up as a Korean American, I believed that there was a glass ceiling for the extent of success and acceptance that we as Asians can have in America. This was one goal I thought would be hard to achieve but it felt like a fairytale moment that shows that all things are possible. It means so much to my parents and it made us all emotional.

I fell into BTS when I needed them most. Being an essential worker during the pandemic led to extreme burnout and depression, and I was able to find myself again in their music. Meeting ARMY in day to day life has been incredible. I've always been shy but any time I meet ARMY I feel like I'm "home" and can just open up and be myself, even if its just chatting in line at the grocery store.

The first hot 100 #1. The collective anxiety (and prolonged agony) of waiting for the chart announcement. The euphoria when it was finally announced. Seeing BTS's reactions on twitter/weverse and realizing how much it meant to them.

BTS's touching commencement speech. I graduated during quarantine.

Just ... all of In the Soop. Watching them experience some much needed healing helped me to also find ways to heal during this crazy year. When I start feeling anxious or panicked, I turn on In The Soop and the memories of them creating the theme song already start to lift my spirits.

FAVORITE MEMORIES OF 2020

I work in a coffee shop. This year I've added BTS songs to our spotify playlist. Listening to all the positive reactions from customers was pretty amazing. Dynamite was the biggest hit in term of people actually singing their songs but all the songs brought great atmosphere definitely.

This year has been a very hard one, but thanks to the members, my daily life has become so much more enjoyable whether it be cooing over their pictures, taking millions of pictures when they go live or dying over live stages. this year i also finally had the chance to interact with other armys for the first time in my 4 years of stanning and i am so so grateful for all the friends i made this year. mots on:e was also my first bts concert ever, albeit online and it was a truly unforgettable experience. i will always owe a part of my life to bangtan <3

I think just the way BTS really connected with ARMY throughout the year despite this pandemic. They made sure to remind ARMY that they missed us, just as much as ARMY misses BTS.

Before this year I was a casual listener. I credit BTS with helping me get through this difficult year. I have laughed with them and cried with them. I've cheered them on during concerts and met wonderful people online through talking about them. BTS truly have taught me confidence and how I should love myself even though I struggle with it sometimes. They are my hope and my home.

It was my first time trying out Reddit's BTS secret santa postcard and gift exchange! It was really nice to be able to connect with other ARMYs around America, hear why they love BTS and exchange gifts with them.

FAVORITE MEMORIES OF 2020

I was so happy when we got Hope on the Street again. That was the point when I realized that quarantine doesn't only mean canceled concerts but also more, so much earned, free time for the members. They tried to use it to develop themselves and I followed suite and did the same. Learned languages, worked out everyday, started drawing and writing again etc.

Everything they did this year, especially the whole album process vlogs were an inspiration to just do things, anything, instead of giving in to the general slump the year pushed me into. And on the worst of days their shenanigans and music were a soothing balm to heal or to escape momentarily and start over. For a year that had me disappointed and frustrated on many sides, they made sure I did not get trapped in it. Helped me pick up pace, even if a little.

Wrapping presents for my secret Santa allowed me to feel connected to the world again. And also led me down the rabbit hole of pin collection.

I attended the MOTS ON:E concert. It was my first BTS concert, and it was amazing. Even though it wasn't in person, there's still something magical about watching BTS live. You are watching them dance, sing, talk, laugh, and cry as they do it even if it is through a screen. It feels like you're connected with them in a way. And the concert itself was incredible to say the least.

Through all of the difficulties that 2020 brought from the pandemic to losing loved ones, BTS was there for me. Their music comforted me while I grieved, their shows, bangtan bombs and memes gave me laughter when I needed it most, and their online events gave me something to look forward to throughout this challenging year. Some highlights for me were the first Bangbang Con, MOTS ON:E, and Dynamite being released on my birthday (best present ever!).
